I'm a black man, born Nov. 11, 1952 in the great city of New Orleans, lived there all my life with the exception of time spent in the U.S. Air Force. I'm 6 ft, 3 in., 210 lbs, dark complexion; Divorced, married at 36, divorced 3 months later. No children, parents are deceased, no contact with 3 brothers or my sister; Lone Ranger. While visiting in Mississippi, I ended up killing a man and was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison. Believe it or not, it's made me a better man. I no longer have the desire for alcohol or drugs. I've quit smoking after 37 years. ( It'll be 5 years, come Nov. 11, 2008) it was my 51st birthday present to myself. I'm a born again Christian ( Baptist) and there's still a lot of things about me that needs a lot of work. I desire to correspond with female, (excuse that prison terminology.) But, I desire to correspond with women who have an open mind, are truthful and spiritually inclined. I'm human and as all of us "Lifers" here, wish to be free and return to a life which we may share with that special someone. I've been incarcerated since Sept. 16, 1996. When Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005, it devastated the Lower Ninth Ward in New Orleans. We simply called it "across the canal." A lot of people died, many more than what was said on the news and many are still missing. Some say it'll never be the same. Everyone focuses on the French Quarters, but what about the thousands of houses, empty due to foreclosure, on not being able to repair, due to lack of funds? I don't hear from New Orleans anymore, don't know where anyone is or if they're alive. It would be nice to have someone an old man can write to sometimes. (not that old.....56). Let me hear from ya'll and again thanks. Sincerely, Bruce Hilliard
