EXPECTATIONS.
From before he could recall they all said he'd go
far. Off to school he was sent where we was always
the star. Expectations, he thought. Expectations, they
sought. Expectations, he fought. He only wanted someone to
care, to give a fuck. Now down the classroom hall, from his
rage and his bullets, his classmates duck....
When she was small she was told she had what it takes.
Always stand up straight and tall, and take advantage of
all the breaks. Expectations, she thought. Expectations, they
sought. Expectations, she bought. She doesn't see them
anymore, her family, nor do they know how she gets her
kicks. But sometimes she thinks of them as she lay on her
back for her tricks...
He was tall and strong, and always told he'd be the one
they made him train and practice, but never told him
to have fun. Expectations, he thought. Expectations, they
taught. Expectations, he sought. He wonders what went
wrong where it was that road began to
unfurl. The thought doesn't last long though, as he
fills his brain with the drug de'jour........
