As I have made my way through life, sometimes walking,
sometimes running, and sometimes just barely able to drag my-
self along, I have found that, as humans, we communicate a myriad
of emotions through the sense of touch. The strongest of these
emotions is love. Even though it is the strongest it is also
a naked emotion in that there is no way to hide it or mask it.
Invariably, our body gives us away. It gives us away in
the way we touch, the way we look at the object of our love,
and the way we communicate.
We communicate love through physical contact such as
hugs,
kisses, hand-holding, and we have the added pleasure of being
able to verbalize it although nothing speaks louder than physical
contact.
It is important to be cognizant of the fact that love
is
a physical emotion and emanates from the heart. Ever wonder
why Valentines Day is represented by a heart? This is a day
that is used to express our love for the special someone's in
our lives. It is sad that such a wonderful emotion needs to
have a reminder to share itself with others in the form of a
holiday. Every day should be Valentine's Day. You cannot give
love without getting something out of it, even if it is only
a personal pleasure and sense of well being in being able to
express your love. Sadly enough, there are those who would point
their finger at those who love in vain. How would you ever even
be able to tell if your love pierced even the most hardest of
hearts? What makes this emotion even more powerful is the fact
that God created us in His own image and His ensuing love for
us is what prompted Him to give up His only son. Have you ever
loved someone so much you would literally give up your life
for them? Do you realize that we all have the capacity to love
like this? do you realize that we all have the potential to
be loved like that?
So, take today and seek out those that you love and
pull
them to the side and let them know how you feel and express
your love to them through touch if at all possible. Those that
are married - don't just go through the motions, through the
habits you have developed over time, take time and do it
correctly.
Love is an emotion that the entire body feels.
Remember,
the touch of a hand can convey a variety of emotions - make sure
that you keep this in mind as you go through your daily activities.
Never take your love for someone or their love for you
for granted. Love is a gift that can be passed on and on. When
you take the initiative and let someone know you love them and
you express your love with a hug or some sort of physical touch,
then you set into motion a chain of events that will get passed
from person to person. Your kindness today may change someone's
life tomorrow, as your expression of love started it all.
Love is something that you cannot help but share! When
dealing with others around you that are not in your circle of
love you must be aware of the fact that reality is often distorted
in the eyes of the beholder due to the changing perception
of events as they unfold around you. Let your love overflow
and you will effect a change in those around you!
