LIFE

I saw the ways that love can be,
I felt the joys and pain.
I touched the flesh of ecstacy,
"Our fingers were the chain.."

A tender kiss that held my heart,
A smile that touched the soul.
The anxious moments when we'd part,
"Our dreams became our goal.."

My foolish ways became a cost,
The years turned me cold,
Life surrounds what I've missed,
"It is a woman's hold.."

The laughter that now once was,
Can briefly make me smile,
The pain that the memory does,
Can trap me for awhile..

I'm floating in a raging sea,
Hopeful in the night.
Though a thousand stars are over me,
I'm still searching for a light..
