The CORCORAN SUN is a monthly variety prisoner newspaper featuring news, entertainment, art, poetry, drama, fiction, etc.; by and for prisoners and loved ones. The Sun serves to encourage creative expression and to shine light into the darkest corners and bring warmth to the loneliest hearts.

Established January of 2006, the Sun is free to Corcoran Prison residents and distributed via a grassroots network to prisoners across the U.S. Sun staff include two PEN Prison Writing Program winners, a Friend's Committee on Legislation contest winner and a diverse & talented group of enthusiastic contributors and participants.

Art, stories, poetry, jokes, etc., are sought from all interested parties, especially our freedom - impaired comrades. Submit material or request the Sun from Dave Babb at the address given above.

Please include a self-addressed stamped envelope with requests. Donations of stamps/envelopes are appreciated. In-custody requesters, please use third-party mailers, we are unable to correspond institution-to-institution (in many cases).

The CORCORAN SUN is posted +/or promoted on a variety of websites, for listing, contact the editor, mentioned above. To place an ad or inquire about rates do same. We ask readers of the Sun to please pass your copy onto friends or loved ones inside. The most oppressed, the most needy, is our most valuable reader.
